My tenure as ballet mistress for the Joffrey Ballet overlapped with Charlene's dancing from 1989 to 1991, and I remember her generosity and integrity, how she listened to input while also trusting herself. Whether it's a classical ballet program or a weeks-long workshop with a renowned modern dance company, a summer intensive can kick off the transition from student to professional. Therefore, we plan to enroll only dancers from New York and the 5 contiguous states regardless of a student's vaccine status. In our Virtual Summer Intensive, students participate in a minimum of three classes per day with ABT’s renowned faculty and enjoy a comprehensive curriculum that includes exposure to ABT artists, history and repertory.
